Plastic Plastic EP

This album art was designed for the local band Plastic Plastic’s EP, Everyone I Love or Wish to Love is Here.

RecSports : The Magazine

RecSports: The Magazine is a semesterly publication of the University of Florida Department of Recreational Sports. I created a icon system to reference each sport and category discussed in the magazine, and these icons are displayed as a pattern on the front cover. The use of orange on most of the inner spreads creates a slight reference to UF’s school colors (orange and blue) when seen next to the bold, blue cover.

Release, Renew, React

Oak Park Stage is a community theatre that uses expressive therapy through theatre, music, and film. The goal of the theatre is for the audience to experience catharsis while learning to ‘release, renew, and react’. In contrast to the cold, clinical style of many therapeutic clinics, this branding system focuses on three abstract chakra icons displayed in vibrant colors that referencing positive emotions. “Within drama, there is a powerful potential of healing.” —Phil Jones

La Belle Boheme

This catalogue acts as the fall look book for the salon La Belle Boheme: Beauty with a Twist. Each hairstyle is inspired by the bohemian spirit and implies a sense of sophistication; an idea often lost in common hairstyle catalogs. The content on each page is split into two sections: English and French, in order to reach a broader audience in the fashion industry. The logo mark references the two Bs in the salon name while forming a braid, the linking element in all the hair styles.

Crystallize

This booklet is a visual narrative of the verb crystallize. Throughout the pages, the simplistic triangular shape gathers more and more layers, creating new compositions and shapes. The first half of the spreads show only the process of making a single crystal. The second half reveals the complexity that occurs when that single crystal grows and repeats. By the end of the book, the viewer is left with an image predominantly made up of crystal forms. The background imagery is the interior of caves which references the atmosphere in which crystallization happens. If pulled out to it’s full accordion spread, one can see how these background images create a spectrum. This spectrum reflects the pH scale and references how caves themselves are formed through the combination of a base and acid.

MAP TAT

Inspired by my many clumsy moments traveling abroad, MAP TAT is my design solution: a map camouflaged as a temporary tattoo with illustrated and written directions. (it really is the only way to look “bad ass” while using a map!)

Alicia Korn Illustration

This illustration represents my dear friend, Alicia Korn, and her bubbly personality. I chose to illustrate her in a Roy Lichtenstein style referencing the bubbly nature of comic characters.

Dreamcatcher

I designed this headboard to function as an ornamental furniture piece and as a personal dream catcher. I used a laser cutter to get the detailed precise curves and engravings of my design on hardboard material.

Kula Logo and Packaging

This logo and packaging system was designed for a fictitious client: a small family farm in Hawaii that produces soap, cooking oil, and chocolate candies by using kukui and macadamia nuts. Kula is the Hawaiian word for gold/golden, and it references the color of the nuts used to make each product as well as the “gold” standard that a consumer would be paying for when purchasing these products. The patterning and geometric logo was inspired by ancient Polynesian tattoos, and the secondary color identity systems references the Hawaiian environment: red for volcanoes, aqua for the ocean, and magenta for the floral-life.

Swet Dancing Installation
This installation displays the research used to create a hybrid dance form, Swet Dancing, which combines Irish Set Dancing and American Swing Dancing. Combining these two cultures created a conversation piece between the locals of the small town in Ballyvaughan and the traveling students from the US.
